Saint John Vianney High School is excited to announce the appointment of Christine O'Connor as its new Head Girls’ Cross Country Coach and John Rogerson as its new Head Boys’ Cross Country Coach.

O'Connor, who grew up around running, brings over 13 years of coaching experience at the high school level. Her experience, faith, and commitment to teaching and coaching young women in a mission-driven and passionate way make her the ideal candidate to move the program forward and build up young women and a team that achieves long-term success.

Rogerson has been a competitive runner since high school and is a former public middle school teacher and a dedicated member of the Air National Guard. Now in his 21st year of military service, Master Sergeant Rogerson is the school's full-time aerospace science instructor, helping to build a new, exciting, and unique program at SJV.

With a focus on developing a team culture that supports individual performance, both O'Connor and Rogerson seek to instill values that will allow runners to succeed in their athletic careers and personal lives.

Upon being hired for the new role, O'Connor said, "It's an honor to step into the head coaching role after working alongside Coach Agnello. I'm grateful for the foundation he built and excited to continue growing the program's success while fostering a renewed energy and interest in cross country. I'm ready to lead our athletes into the next great chapter."

Rogerson shared that he is also honored to take on this new role and said, "With the support of the school, parents, and community, I will be committed to a long-term approach to rebuild our Boys' Cross Country program into a championship-caliber team."

"We are thrilled to have Christine and John as our new Head Girls' and Boys' Cross Country coaches," said Steven DiMezza, President of Saint John Vianney High School. "They not only understand the mission and values of SJV, but they are tremendous examples for our student-athletes. We are confident that our programs will be successful under their leadership and make our school and community proud."

Saint John Vianney High School looks forward to O'Connor and Rogerson exemplifying our mission as our Head Cross Country coaches.
