Saint John Vianney High School is excited to announce the appointment of Jason Murphy, SJV Class of 1999, as its new Head Boys’ Soccer Coach. Murphy, who grew up with soccer as his passion, brings with him over 10 years of coaching and 25+ years of soccer experience back to SJV. His soccer knowledge, leadership, integrity, faith, and commitment to the mission of SJV make him the ideal candidate to continue to move the program forward after its most successful 2024 season.

Murphy’s soccer and track background, coupled with his experience as a leader and successful business owner, provide him with the unique ability to raise the bar for the SJV boys’ soccer program. Throughout his career, Murphy has demonstrated a talent for developing, building, and growing teams and organizations on and off the field. Murphy plans to focus on developing student-athletes through the game of soccer and graduating young men who represent SJV and themselves with dignity and respect.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jay back to Saint John Vianney as our new head soccer coach,” said Steven DiMezza, President of Saint John Vianney High School. “Jay is a proud alumnus who understands the mission and values of SJV and has tremendous pride in our school. His example as a husband, father, business owner, and a man of faith will be a great example for our young men.”

“I am honored to be named the head soccer coach at Saint John Vianney,” said Murphy. “SJV was a great experience for me, and I look forward to helping to provide the same experience for our team while developing championship men and teams on and off the field.”

Dan Dimino, SJV Class of 2002,  and current Athletic Director at Old Bridge High School, had this to say, “As an SJV alum and teammate of Coach Murphy, I could not be more excited to see him take the reins of the program. His passion, character, and commitment to SJV make him a great fit to continue to move the program forward.”
