Jayne started her journey at Saint John Vianney High School over 40 years ago, first as Physical Education teacher, then as a beloved Guidance Counselor. She loved being involved in the school and getting to know each of her students personally. Jayne thrived in this position and made each of her students feel as if they were family. She loved each and everyone of her students as if they were her own. Jayne kept in touch with many of her students even after they graduated SJVHS! Jayne was more than just a figure in the school, she was a staple in all of her students' lives.
Jayne is best known for her spirit and tenacity as a cheerleading coach for Saint John Vianney High School. She was the cheerleading coach for over 40 years. Jayne built the program from the ground up and made a name for the Lancers cheer team. She left a legacy of greatness that will live on forever on the field, on the court, and on the mat! You can see all of her State and National Championship titles on the flag that hangs high in the SJVHS gym. Jayne was a member of the NJCDCA organization as well as many other organizations. Cheerleading was one of Jayne's major passions, but her biggest passion was watching her students succeed.
Jayne could be seen not only at a cheerleading competition, but at a football game, basketball game, baseball game, softball game, wrestling match, soccer game, lacrosse game, and the spring musical.... the list goes on. Jayne loved supporting her students and was always there to cheer them on.
"Mrs. S" loved her role as a Guidance Counselor and she found fulfillment in touching the lives of so many young adults.
They say there are two days that are important your life, the day that you are born and the day you realize why. For Jayne it was the day she walked through the doors at Saint John Vianney High School and realized her life was to inspire young minds!
