Saint John Vianney’s Entrepreneurship Team won the Entre X Lab “Regional Venture Showcase”. Our team was awarded $1,000 for being the top team. Ten teams competed in this event which included schools from NJ, NY, PA, and CT. “The Regional Venture Showcase” was held at Rutgers University and sponsored jointly with University of Delaware.
Each team was challenged to develop a viable new business. Business professionals judged the competitors based on points which included:
- Will the concept work?
- Will this business make an impact on our society?
- Does the team have good presentation skills?
- Can this team succeed in developing this new business venture?
Our entrepreneurs presented their business concept “X-Save.” Their product is a hand-held X-Ray device that can be used to diagnose sports injuries right on the field. “X-Save” is based on real, new technology developed by NASA. To develop their business plan, our entrepreneurs interacted with NASA representatives and actual manufacturing companies.
Our Entrepreneur Team has entered three competitions this school year and they have finished in 1st place in each contest! Our team is composed of:
- Christina Stafyleras, Senior
- Fiona Drew, Senior
- Ashley Salvesen, Junior
As a result of today’s performance, our entrepreneurs have been invited to the “Diamond Challenge.” This competition features teams from all over the country and it also includes international teams. The “Diamond Challenge” will be held in April at the University of Delaware.
