SCHOOL FACTS

Ever since we opened our doors in 1969, Saint John Vianney High School in Monmouth County has been proud to be called one of the best Catholic high schools in our region. Between our gorgeous Holmdel, New Jersey campus, qualified academics, and a variety of extracurricular activities, we have a plethora of resources and opportunities to offer our students from Monmouth, Middlesex, and Ocean Counties.

At a Glance

The Saint John Vianney High School motto is “Knowledge – Commitment – Involvement”. It represents our dedication to promoting personal growth in all three areas, both while students attend our school and after they graduate.

In the community and on the sports field, you’ll recognize us by our colors. We’re proud to wear gold and white under the banner of our mascot, the knightly Lancer. The colors extend to our school uniforms as well, which represent our way of expressing school spirit while maintaining a clean, professional appearance on a daily basis.

On Our Campus

Saint John Vianney High School currently teaches approximately 900 students from throughout the region, with a ratio of 45:55 boys to girls. Our student-to-teacher ratio is around 15:1, ensuring that each and every student receives the attention they need.

All of our students congregate on our beautiful 38-acre campus. We are constantly improving our grounds to be more welcoming and enriching for students. We offer a top-notch Library/Media Center, state-of-the-art athletic fields and training facilities, auditoriums, and more. Whatever you consider essential to a full high school education and experience, you can find it on the Saint John Vianney High School campus.

Activities and Extracurriculars

With these gorgeous facilities, we can offer a truly impressive roster of extracurriculars. The athletic department currently houses 32 varsity sports teams, including:

  • Fall: Football, soccer, field hockey, tennis, volleyball, cross country, cheer, dance
  • Winter: Basketball, indoor track, wrestling, bowling, ice hockey, swimming, cheer, dance
  • Spring: Tennis, golf, lacrosse, outdoor track, baseball, softball, volleyball

On top of that, we also offer over 40 clubs and other activities. If your child is not interested in sports, there are plenty of ways to stay engaged and make friends, such as:

  • Service Clubs: Social Justice, Film Club, More Than Just Special, and more
  • Academic Clubs: Languages, Creative Writing, Mock Trial Team, Pre-Med, and more
  • Social Clubs: Arts, Animal Awareness, Classic Cars, Culinary, and more

Excellence in Education

Our block schedule format allows 78-minute classes, four each semester, for a total of eight courses per year – more than the traditional high school model. We also provide a 1:1 Tablet PC program for both students and faculty, keeping everyone connected with the latest tech.

All these factors lead to a top-quality education. Our standardized test scores are well above both the state and national percentiles which is why we’re proud to say that 99% of our graduates attend college.
