History

The History of Saint John Vianney High School

Founded in 1969, Saint John Vianney High School is a Catholic college preparatory school located in Holmdel, New Jersey, and operated by the Diocese of Trenton. We serve students from a wide variety of towns in Monmouth, Ocean, and Middlesex counties. Our mission as a fully accredited Catholic institution is to give students the tools they need to succeed academically and spiritually. Our History

Opening the doors to our first freshmen class in 1969, Saint John Vianney High School has served Monmouth, Middlesex, and Ocean Counties for over 50 years. As a private, co-ed, four-year high school, Saint John Vianney High School provides a Catholic education that combines teachings from the Catholic Church with the academic instruction students need to excel in post-secondary schooling.

Since its founding, the school has operated on 38 acres in Holmdel, NJ. It presently features a stadium, various athletic fields, a 12,000 square-foot activities center, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and a music center. Today, Saint John Vianney High School hosts 32 varsity sports, over 40 club activities and approximately 900 students.

Knowledge, Commitment, Involvement

At Saint John Vianney High School, we offer courses in Theology, Business, English, Fine Arts, Health, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies, Technology, and World Languages. Also offered are Advanced Placement (AP) courses for college credit to enrich our students’ education. Each class integrates our Catholic faith, offering a holistic learning experience. Besides our well-rounded academic curriculum, we also present exciting athletic and club activities to promote individual growth and development outside the classroom.
