The Instructor: Kevin Alwell - Kevin Alwell is a Software Developer who graduated from SJV, class of 2010. He attended Rutgers University Business School, majoring in Management Information Systems. During this time, Kevin spent a semester attending a third-party software engineering program: Dev BootCamp. Here he demonstrated his understanding of application development by winning third place in an internal Hackathon. In the spring of his junior year, he interned for Honeywell where he helped design and develop mobile solutions for their PMT Business Division. Going into his senior year at Rutgers, Kevin worked at Vonage in Holmdel. While at Vonage, he helped to develop multiple B2B applications.
Recently, he is working for a Smart Marketing platform startup in North Jersey where his team is developing an enterprise application for digital content development. Outside of the professional realm, Kevin has successfully competed in Hackathons across Manhattan, and he has mentored students, from schools such as UPenn and Carnegie Mellon, who compete in coding competitions. Kevin is looking forward to sharing a fun approach to learning the fundamentals of programming this summer during Code Camp at SJV!
For the sixth consecutive year, Saint John Vianney HS will be hosting the Headfirst New York Yankee Summer Camp for boys and girls between the ages of 5-13, from August 7-11. Enrollment is limited. CLICK HERE for more information.
