The athletic program is an integral part of the education process at Saint John Vianney High School. The program promotes greater desire in our student body and community to take an active part in our sports program, either as participants or spectators.
The focus is to develop highly competitive athletics, but not to lose sight of educational values such as sportsmanship, health, and scholastic attainment. The program occupies a position in the curriculum comparable to that of other extra-curricular activities and aids in promoting excellent school morale. It is the duty of the coach to make sure that players are role models, and a credit to the team both on and off the field. They must be considered leaders in all that they do. Players are expected to set their standards high, and with the help of coaches, reach their full potential both on and off the field. Athletes are to be unselfish team oriented players that always look to improve, and drive the team toward success. Players are expected to compete with class, and always treat opponents with respect.
