At Saint John Vianney High School, our student musicians take courses in band, choir, guitar, piano, or general music from our music teacher, who is also a professional musician. Many students take elective courses in music to round out their educational experiences, others to study under a well-known and respected professional. Beyond the classroom, our music organizations provide a variety of services to the school community. The BAND performs at many school events, including concerts and football games, and the CHORUS performs at all school masses and concerts, opening many evening events with the national anthem.
The Theater Program at Saint John Vianney High School offers our student thespians practical experiences in all aspects of theater, including acting, production work, and academic studies. Specialized courses and our Drama Club offer our students opportunities in acting and technical theater. Two to three major productions during the school year, provide our students with a broad exposure to and well-balanced background in a variety of styles, eras, and production issues. Teaching theater courses and directing and composing original productions herself, our theater director chooses productions that showcase our students’ individual talents.
