  • EBSCO EBOOKS - Contains more than 5,200 fiction and non-fiction titles spanning all academic subjects. Unlimited simultaneous access for users and can be viewed online or downloaded to most popular mobile devices.
  • FOLLETT SHELF - Cloud-based virtual bookshelf of current and classic fiction and non-fiction titles.  Students: log-in using your tablet username. The default password is sjv
  • GALE VIRTUAL REFERENCE LIBRARY -  Over 400 specialized reference books for multidisciplinary research.

If a reference listed below has an Internet link, then remote access is possible. USERNAME & PASSWORDS are available for SJV faculty and students through the Faculty (Forms and Documents)  and Student (Student Files-lower right side of Student Page) Portals of the webpage.

  • CREDO - Full text on-line versions of nearly 1200 published reference works covering all subject areas. 
  • EBSCO - Includes: EbscoHost which indexes more than 1000 full text journals and newspapers searchable in English, Spanish, French, and German, and the following Research Centers:  Literary, Points of View, Legal Information, Science, Salud en Español and Referencia Latina.
  • ENCYCLOPEDIA BRITANNICA (Academic Edition) - Online encyclopedia with research tools such as:  World Atlas, Timelines, World Data Analysts, Magazines, E-Books, Primary Sources, and links to other Internet sites such as The New York Times, and BBC News.
  • FACTS ON FILE - Includes databases for the following areas:  Current Issues (Issues and Controversies), Literature and Language Arts (Bloom's Literary Reference Online), Science and Mathematics, History, Medical and Health, Geography and Culture, Careers and Education, and Curriculum.
